Position Summary
The Construction Labourer supports the day-to-day operations of a multi-unit residential
construction site. This role assists skilled trades, maintains a safe and organized job site,
and performs general physical labour to help keep the project on schedule.

Key Responsibilities
Site Preparation & Cleanup
● Load and unload building materials, tools, and equipment
● Move materials to work areas manually or using equipment
● Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
● Remove debris and dispose of waste according to site procedures
● Sweep, shovel, and perform general site housekeeping

Support to Skilled Trades

Assist carpenters, concrete crews, electricians, plumbers, drywallers, and other trades by:

● Holding, lifting, and positioning materials
● Cutting lumber and materials under supervision
● Mixing and transporting concrete, mortar, and grout
● Assisting with framing, forming, insulation, drywall, and finishing tasks
● Installing temporary barriers, signage, and protection materials

Equipment & Tool Handling

● Operate basic hand and power tools safely
● Set up and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, and temporary structures
● Fuel and clean equipment as required
● Follow lockout/tagout and equipment safety procedures

Safety & Compliance

● Follow all company and provincial safety regulations
● Wear and maintain required PPE at all times
● Report hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions immediately
● Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks
Weather & Seasonal Duties
● Snow removal and ice control during winter months
● Site grading and drainage assistance during wet conditions
● Protect materials and work areas from weather damage

Qualifications

● Previous construction or labour experience considered an asset
● Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting up to 50 lbs / 23 kg)
● Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
● Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
● Reliable transportation to job site
● Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices preferred

Required Safety Certifications (or willingness
to obtain)

● WHMIS
● Fall Protection
● First Aid/CPR (asset)
● Any provincial safety orientation required
