Rent Manager

Responsibilities:
- Rent Collection: Manage rent collection to ensure timely payments. Follow up on late or missed payments according to company policies.
- Market Rent Setting: Conduct market research to set competitive rent prices based on local conditions, property amenities, and occupancy rates.
- Tenant Communication: Act as the main contact for tenant inquiries regarding rent, payments, and account balances. Resolve disputes and communicate payment policies.
- Lease Management: Oversee the lease process, including drafting, renewing, and terminating leases, ensuring compliance with tenancy laws. Assist with lease renewals and rent adjustments.
- Financial Reporting: Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on rent collections, arrears, and tenant balances.
- Compliance & Legal Matters: Ensure compliance with local and provincial tenancy laws. Draft legally sound documents, including leases, notices, and rule updates.
- Data Management: Use property management software (e.g., Yardi) to track rent payments and tenant account information.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, addressing tenant concerns promptly and fostering positive relationships.
- Process Improvement: Identify ways to improve the efficiency of rent management processes.
- Onboarding & Move-In Coordination: Ensure a smooth transition for new tenants by coordinating move-ins and introducing them to the building manager.
- Team Collaboration: Participate in meetings to report on tenant issues, building performance, and occupancy rates.
- Strive to maximize rental revenue, minimize rental vacancies, and maintain the properties in a safe and attractive condition.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with tenancy laws and lease agreements.
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and excellent customer service.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in property management software (e.g., Yardi).
- Proficient in Yardi, Microsoft Office, and cloud platforms.
- Able to build positive relationships with tenants and team.
- Valid driver’s license and flexible for after-hours emergencies.
